How the journal is written
Some entries are written the morning after; many are retrospective, set down years later once the noise of a trip has settled. Both are marked honestly — a date is only ever recorded when it is actually known, never invented.
Photographs are there to hold the light of a place rather than to sell it. A story is published when the writing is ready, with or without pictures, so the journal never waits on a perfect image.
The 76 destinations above are already recorded in the atlas. The written stories are being added one at a time, which is why many places currently read “story being added”.
